Hi. I’m Youlim! Welcome.

I’m a trauma-informed, embodiment-focused personal trainer (NSCA-CPT) and public health professional.

Borrowing the words from Somatics teacher and practitioner Prentis Hemphill,

I’m invested in healing work that helps us love where we long to and fight where we need to.

Central to my pursuits is a curiosity about the interconnectedness of our mind, body and nervous system, and how they contain and express our adaptive and alive natures.

I believe in the power of intentional movement and embodiment practices as a healing antidote to the disconnecting, disempowering impact of trauma.

When we reclaim awareness of and connection to our bodies, we can widen our range of choice in how we relate to ourselves and others. We can learn that it can be safe to take up space. We can trust ourselves to be flexible through the challenges of life. We can deepen our capacity to hold and move through our felt experience.

Both the individual and collective wounding that necessitates the healing are historical and systemically reproduced. I am a public health professional who is passionate about both the work of creating conditions that prevent trauma and expanding accessibility of healing.

My perspectives are shaped by my experiences in supporting the integration of mental health and public health systems and application of trauma-informed approaches.

We need people who care a lot to feel strong.

Each individual that feels safe to connect with themselves

builds a collective that feels safe to connect with each other.
